Friends of mine in the network marketing industry spend hours on the computer.  Each waking moment is dedicated to finding leads,  the methods vary, most conversions are dismal and yet as long as they are taking “action” they feel like they are moving their business forward.

Some, a lot of them, subconsciously sabotage their own efforts.  The vicious circle destined to keep them exactly where they are right now.

Some, a lot of them, have never stopped, stepped back, analyzed what they are doing, how their methods are working, what their conversion and retention rates are.  They focus on just “taking action”.

In my opinion some, a lot of them, have never figured out they are been led and guided by wishes rather than desires.

Desire takes you out of your comfort zone.  Wishes keep you locked into the same repetitive pattern.  Desire forces you to evaluate your actions.  Wishes comfort you in your current activity.  Desire drives you to accept responsibility for your lack of success.  Wishes lull you with the soothing mantra of “It’s not your fault”.   Desire forces you to think, analyze, focus on what your ultimate goal is and the vehicle to get there.  Wishes allow you to accept what others (gurus?) tell you to think.

Are your desires wishes?  It is never too late to stop what you are doing and decide.  Are my actions fulfilling my desire or am I busy on wishing.

My guru taught me a formula I use frequently.  Intention + Mechanism = Results.  My Intention is to find those interested in my business + My Mechanism, ecompassing a variety of methods to do that = My Results which are a successful, solid business growing daily.

It’s not too late.  Desire your wishes with the right action and you will see results.  The ones you deserve.

We wonder only until we realize we all want to stay in our “comfort zone”.  Our zone that we know and understand.  Good or bad, it’s OK because we know and understand what happens to us there, how we feel there, what to expect there and that is far better than the unknown.

Brian Tracy in his book “Maximum Achievement” points out we have a financial comfort zone as well.  He states if we are making more than 10 percent of our financial comfort zone we blow it.  We give it away, we spend it on frivolous things, we’re uncomfortable and we have to get back into our comfort zone as quick as possible.  His case in point was the few people who have won the lottery.  Within 2 or 3 years they are right back where they started – broke or back to work.

Your natural tendency, if you are forced out of your comfort zone, even if you weren’t happy in it, is to recreate a new comfort zone similar to the one you just left.  You will actually work to recreate a situation you didn’t like in the first place. - Brian Tracy

Your  subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between reality and an experience you vividly imagine.  Imagine yourself,  with desire, with emotion, that you have in your possession a huge amount of money.  Imagine what you would be doing, where you would be, how you feel, who you are with.  Do it with deliberate, intense emotion every day as many times a day as you can and you will change your comfort zone.   Twenty-one days, according to Brian Tracy, is all it would take to expand your comfort zone to the point you could successfully, happily handle over the “10% financial comfort zone” you are currently in.

No one can do it for you.  You have to make the decision to stretch your comfort zone in ALL areas of your life.  Do it today.  Twenty-one days from now you will have grown to the point the Universe will send you what you most desire.  Life is for enjoying.  Might as well start today !

Raymond’s message was a good one for network marketers.  If you are after money and only money you are missing out on the most important thing in life – people and your relationship with them.

Six years ago my mom’s death drove that home for me.  I was fortunate.  My mom, 72 years old, was diagnosed with a “rapidly, fatal” cancer.  No cure, no treatment,  however there was some good news too.  There would be no pain associated with the cancer.  Two weeks after her diagnosis she was in the hospital palliative care unit.

I made a vow to her she would not die alone.  I would be there for her.  We talked, we laughed, we reminisced.  I told her many times a day how much I loved her (which I had been too busy to do before).  I cried when she had a really good day and hope blossomed in my heart that maybe the doctors were wrong.  I cried when she had a restless day as I had to acknowledge maybe the doctors were right and I was going to lose her.   I never cried in front of her and neither did she cry in front of me.   She was strong and so was I.  Each bleeding inside as we knew she was never going to see her next two great grandchildren on the way.  (Both of whom were named after her)

We enjoyed each other.  I was blessed to be able to give back even a small portion of what she had given me over my life time.  I loved her, honoured her, respected her as I should have done my whole life.  I was blessed for 56 of the shortest and the longest days of my life to be in her presence as she prepared for her death.   I prayed for strength as exhaustion set in and He granted me what I needed.

Something told me to call my sister that morning and tell her to fly in as soon as she could.  Nothing appeared to have changed but I knew, my sister needed to be there.   Twelve hours later my mom breathed her last.  Quietly, peacefully, she was gone and so was a part of our hearts.

She was and is my hero.  My mom.  The one who always offered unconditional love.  The one who always tracked me down on my birthday with cake and gifts and birthday cards about being such a wonderful daughter – even when I wasn’t.   She would bring her cleaning supplies and twice a year would wash my windows.  She would walk in with winter jackets and boots or school supplies and clothes for the kids telling me she couldn’t resist – they were on sale.  She seemed to know when there was more month than money and invitations to join her for supper were extended.   She never criticized, never interfered.  She was just there when I needed her.  Quietly.  Just like she died.

When I grow up I want to be just like her.

A lady.  With a heart.  I miss her.

Visualization can be broken down into four parts.  Each powerful.  Each necessary to acheive the finality of your chosen dream.  Will those dreams change as you progress on your journey?  Of course.  But the best way to move a mountain is one stone at a time.

Part 1 – Frequency. How often you visualize your goal has a powerful impact on your thinking, feeling and acting.   The frequency with which you visualize tells you how much you want it and it also intensifies your desires and your belief that it is achievable.

Part 2 - Vividness. How clear can you envision your dream?  Is it sort of fuzzy around the edges or is every detail sharp and clear?  The more vivid you can see the picture the faster it will materialize as your reality.

Part 3 – Intensity. How emotional are you about your dreams?  Enthusiasm, faith, excitement are the emotional gas pedals to propel or accelerate your acheivement.  Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

Part 4 – Duration.  The longer you visualize with vividness and intensity the more likely you are to receive or arrive at your destination.   Eventually your subconcious mind will accept your dreams as reality and you will begin to act and feel as if you already have what you are visualizing.

Your subconcious mind does not know the difference between reality and visualization.  It simply accepts what your conscious mind puts into it.  Visualize with vividness and intensity over and over again and your dreams will come true.  Your subconscious mind will direct you on the path you  need to be on to acheive whatever it is you most desire.

Your visual images will become your reality.  You just need to train yourself to dream the right way at the right time with the right emotion.

Your upline is not sharing what they are doing OR you can’t afford what they are doing.  Your downline is not following any of your advice.  They are off doing something else that they learned from somewhere else and then complaining they are not having any success or worse they just drift away.

You need to have your team focused. You need the methods built into one system that everyone in your organization can use. You need to be unified, in step, playing the same notes even though each of us is a different instrument. Rick Hagar phrases it like this:

Rhythm is defined as a strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement. Cadence is defined as a sequence of notes or chords comprising the close of a musical phrase. In network marketing, rhythm and cadence is simply the ability to get everyone on the same page with a consistent, unified message/system and have everyone working in complete harmony. When an organization is unified and on the same page – providing they are in a legitimate company and the other variables are place – they are destined for success. Rick Hagar

Did you catch his last sentence “When an organization is unified and on the same page … they are destined for success”?

Personally

My name is Joyce Penner and I am the proud mom of 5 children, 2 dogs and 1 cat. I love sunshine, warm breezes, planting flowers, travelling, reading, baking, animals (especially babies) and just hanging with the kids.

I was born and raised on a farm, surrounded by animals and lots of space to roam, play and hide and that freedom of summer holidays curled up with a good book on the limb of an old tree or exploring the forest as the modern day Robin Hood are still deep within my being. Feeding/cleaning/caring for all the animals was mostly fun although others would have considered it work.

My three oldest children pictured above are Brian, now 32 years old, living in Calgary, Alberta with his beautiful wife, my daughter Leslie, 30, living with the effects of a biological mother who drank and my first baby son, Darryl who is now 28 and has started his career in the Canadian military.

Brian and Carissa, both amazing young people, continue their education while they work full time.  Carissa, a born teacher cares deeply for her students.  Brian, an outdoor enthusiast loves the hiking trails as they wind through the mountains.

My two babies, Vikki,  6 years old and her half brother, Liam, 4, love living on our acreage just outside of town. They have space to run and play, hide in the pumpkin patch, explore, climb trees, play in the sandbox, chase the dog, ride their bikes, jump on the trampoline plus all the other things that pop into the minds of little ones with vivid imaginations.

They love their pets as I did as a child on the farm.

The decision to adopt these two little ones was easy. They were a gift from God that I cherish. It was because of them I chose the lifestyle of being a network marketer. I am there for every event. I’m the one that applauds the loudest and the longest. I am their mom. What an honour !

Background

Nursing was my first occupation of choice, working in a hospital/personal care home until my first child was born. With three babies approximately 2 years apart going back to school to get my nursing degree was not an option and I entered the publishing field, selling and designing ad campaigns. I learned photography, page design, effective copy writing plus I loved meeting and working with the business owners in our circulation area. The hours were long and hard but newspaper publishing was in my blood.

Network Marketing

The social worker phoned me on December 7, 2002 to chat – I thought. I was thunderstruck when she asked me if I was ready for the baby due on December 17. I had ten days. Ten days to get ready for a baby I didn’t know was coming. The decision was easy. The necessary supplies were bought in a hurry and then I spent from December 17 to December 29 in intensive care with a beautiful little girl addicted to Crack/Cocaine and alcohol. My heart broke for her as she struggled to rid her body of the chemicals her mother had ingested. I learned the special feeding techniques I needed to know before I could bring her home. I prayed. I cried. I loved her from a distance as the gentlest touch was difficult for her to handle.

I needed to be home with her. I needed to give her every chance she could have in this life. As I searched for answers network marketing seemed to be the solution. I could be with her, work with her, care for her when she needed me to be there and still generate an income. My search started.

The Opportunity

As most network marketers do I joined a few different companies, learning as I went.
