The US election results

The journey has been long and I’m sure hard on the candidates and families for the US Presidential elections. Not involved, no voting rights in the US hasn’t deterred my interest.

The results of the US election while fascinating isn’t going to change anyone’s lives. Obama or McCain, whichever one wins isn’t going to put food on anyones table. Neither candidate is going to pay for your child’s education. Neither candidate is going to send you a paycheck starting Wednesday, November 6, 2008. Neither candidate is going to be able to “fix” the economic state the US finds itself in at this time.

So no matter the results, you still have to look after you. Your corporation isn’t going to look at you and say “A family to feed – can’t reduce his/her hours.” The big oil companies are not going to say “A hour of commuting to and from work – can’t raise the price of gas.” The food suppliers are not going to say “A family of 5 to feed on a fixed income – we can’t raise the price of food right now, he’s been downsized.”

It boils down to you. Please go out and vote but don’t think it’s going to make any difference to your personal responsibilities. It won’t.

You need to search out and find the avenues, the opportunities that present themselves. The opportunities that will allow you to look after you and your family today and in the future. Grab your future today. You’ll be glad you did.

To your success,

  1. You are correct, Joyce, that it is our individual responsibility to look after our families’ welfare. As someone who voted in the U.S. election today, that, too, was a responsibility. We live in a world now where everything is connected – what happens in the U.S. doesn’t stay in the U.S. One country’s market affects and effects the markets in other countries. I want to build my home-based business that includes sponsoring distributors in the other countries in which my company has a business platform. Paying attention to what I can do is my responsibility. Thanks for the great post. – Linda
